Education
Progress continues as Value of Education (VOE) materials are being ordered for distribution in the community. In another development, the current Marion Leadership class is working with United Way and the VOE group in one of their class projects to create a volunteer initiative for the community. Volunteer recruitment and management for mentoring and other activities is one way to significantly increase our capacity to work with children. The Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Grant for $247,000 began work on early childhood education and parent involvement in December and is currently working with more than 25 families, but will continue to grow. more...

Elgin FFA Adopts Highway near future Elgin Local Schools campus
The Elgin FFA Environmental committee has teamed up with Marion County Litter and Recycling Prevention to adopt a portion of LaRue-Prospect Road that will be adjacent to the new Elgin K-12 building.
